Brewers haunt Jake Arrieta again with seven-run first inning in Cubs’ 10-0 loss

The last time Cubs right-hander Jake Arrieta faced the Brewers, he had a long afternoon, allowing six runs in a season-low 1 2/3 innings. It was déjà vu Wednesday as Milwaukee quickly took advantage of him to make it another long start.

The Brewers got right to work against Arrieta, scoring seven runs in the first inning in their 10-0 victory. After Christian Yelich’s RBI double, Arrieta got Eduardo Escobar to ground out, but the Brewers scored five more runs before making their second out of the inning.

“It’s tough,” Arrieta said after the loss. “Made quite a few good pitches and they found holes.
