This game had many twists and turns. In the end, it twisted away from the Cubs.
The Cubs lost to the Brewers 3-2 in 11 innings Sunday afternoon when Jason Motte loaded the bases on a double, an intentional walk, a fly ball and another walk. Then Martin Maldonado, who entered the game hitting .164, lofted a fly ball to deep right field that dropped for a game-winning single after Joe Maddon had brought Chris Coghlan in to play infield to try to prevent a run. (It wouldn't have made any difference had Coghlan remained in the outfield.
