MESA, Ariz. – Brett Anderson stood at his locker on Monday meeting some of the Cubs beat writers for the first time. With the sun finally out again in Mesa, Anderson worked an early throwing session, and laughed as a reporter commented that he’d never seen a player work up such a lather this early in the morning.
“I could sweat in a snowstorm,” Anderson said. “All things considered, the sun rose like an hour ago, I feel like. But I got a little work in and hopefully get this first team workout in and get acclimated with the new guys and learn their personalities.
