Brennen Davis has faced numerous injury setbacks throughout his promising career, and Tuesday’s may determine his future in the Cubs organization. The outfielder missed nearly three months with a back fracture and returned to the Iowa Cubs in late August with the hope of finishing the season on a high note. He took a step in the right direction with a monster 445-foot homer on Sunday night, then took a step in the wrong direction Tuesday night.
After smashing a liner into the gap in left-center, Davis slid awkwardly and was tagged out trying to stretch a single.
