The Cubs lost 3-0 to the Braves on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field, and yes I know you want to talk about Kyle Hendricks, and I’ll get to that, but the fact is that what The Professor did in his first relief appearance in eight years didn’t matter, because the Cubs had zero runs when he came into the game and they had zero runs when he was finished pitching and they completed the game with zero runs.
The thing is, I cannot believe this offense is THIS bad. They scored 16 runs in the seven-game homestand, and managed to win two of the games, one of them by scoring just once.
