BOTIZZO!!!

It looked like the Cubs offense was going to go quietly into the night yet again on a day that, with Tyler Chatwood on the mound, they needed to post at least 4 runs to have a fighting chance at a win to salvage a series split with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

David Bote saved AT LEAST one run with a sparkling play in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded and 2 out, he ranged far to his right at second base, made a diving stop in the right field grass, whirled around on his knees, and made a perfect throw to Anthony Rizzo to end the inning with the score tied 0-0.
