Ben Zobrist is hitting, and walking, his stride just in time for October

It may not resonate quite like Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers spelling out R-E-L-A-X to panicked Green Bay fans a few years ago, but Cubs manager Joe Maddon was clear when explaining why he believed Ben Zobrist was getting back in a groove at the plate.

“Rested. One word. R-E-S-T-E-D,” Maddon said. “Guys like that, that’s why you want to give them some time down and that’s what it can look like. The everyday major-league player, people have no idea how hard that is to do. Plus he’s 35. That’s not easy. With all these guys, the everyday guy, you gotta get them off their feet.
