SAN FRANCISCO -- Cubs shortstop Javier Baez hustled his way to the 10th inside-the-park home run in AT&T Park history Monday, taking advantage of a carom off the wall in the second inning.
With Jason Heyward on first after singling off Giants starter Matt Moore, Baez launched a drive to the deepest part of the ballpark in right-center, where rookie right fielder Carlos Moncrief had trouble chasing the ball down after it ricocheted off the wall. Moncrief nevertheless made a strong throw home, nearly nabbing Baez as he slid in head-first.
