The Chicago Cubs enter Wednesday night’s game against the Detroit Tigers in fairly decent position, sandwiched exactly between the Pittsburgh Pirates (3 games back) and San Francisco Giants (3 games up) for the second National League Wild Card spot. Tuesday night’s rain-delayed and Jason Hammel‘d game wasn’t a victory, but it did show us something about this team in that no lead is ever safe until the final out. In the meantime, while we wait for more Cubs baseball (and boy did cheap tickets get hard to find!), I noticed something that Jesse Rogers also remarked on.
