All things are on the table for the Cubs as they enter their year of transition in 2021, but one of those things is keeping their star players on the North Side for the foreseeable future. President Jed Hoyer said earlier this month that the team would sit down with their core this spring and talk about possibly extending their stars.
Javy Baez, Kris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo are all entering their final year under club control and will become free agents at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
Rizzo, who is considered the face of the franchise, wouldn’t mind trying to figure something out while the team is in Arizona.
