Adam Warren may have been a bit surprised to have been traded to the Cubs earlier this month, but the way he found out couldn't have surprised him more.
Warren, who was acquired by the Cubs in a deal that sent Starlin Castro to the New York Yankees, had turned off his cell phone while he and his wife vacationed in St. Lucia, where he noticed on television that his former team had been involved in a trade.
Little did Warren know he was part of it.
"Our biggest rule when we go out of the country is to turn your phone off, put them into the safe in the room, and basically get away from technology," Warren said during a recent interview with MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.
