Actor reprises his role as 'Rookie of the Year' pitching coach to cheer on Cubs playoff run

The genius behind "hot ice" is back.

Daniel Stern, the actor who played Cubs pitching coach Phil Brickma in "Rookie of the Year," reprised his role in a Facebook video Sunday jokingly indicating he's returning to the dugout.

Except he gets a call from "Penelope," who shares the news that there just isn't enough room for another coach on the roster. Besides, I think the Cubs are pretty happy with the work real-life pitching coach Chris Bosio has done.

[SHOP: Gear up, Cubs fans!]

Maybe as a consolation prize, Joe Maddon will mimic Brickma the next time he makes a pitching change?
