Three years and two days ago, Cole Hamels no-hit the Cubs at Wrigley Field, ending a streak of 7,920 consecutive games in which the Cubs had at least one hit, dating back nearly 50 years to Sandy Koufax’ perfect game against the Cubs September 9, 1965.
Hamels was traded to the Cubs late Thursday, and will soon make his first appearance in a Cubs uniform.
