Hoyer, who along with his friend Theo Epstein, is the most well-rounded conversationalist in Chicago sports, sat down with me in a large conference room in the front office's upstairs inner sanctum in team’s office complex at Sloan Park to tape the podcast. The room overlooks the team’s weight room and you could see the large mural of fans celebrating the World Series title through one window.
