The Cubs' managerial interview process will extend into next week, at least.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times' Gordon Wittenmyer, Yankees special assistant Carlos Beltrán is on the Cubs' list of managerial candidates. However, an interview hasn't been scheduled yet.
The Yankees are in the midst of a postseason run that will continue Saturday with Game 1 of the ALCS. Consequentially, the Cubs will have to wait until the Yankees are eliminated from the postseason/win the World Series to interview Beltrán. The same goes for Astros bench coach Joe Espada, whom the Cubs also reportedly seek to interview.
