As we begin our journey today toward defending the title, I want to drop some predictions for the 2017 campaign. Please remember that I consider myself horrible at predicting, but I enjoy looking back when all is said and done and seeing how wrong I was. That said, here are predictions for the 2017 Cubs season.
1. A Young Stud Reliever Emerges – I’ve been a fan of Carl Edwards Jr for a long time, and I really think this is the year he steps up. I’m going on record now and predicting that when the season is done, not only will he have become one of the go to setup guys in the back end of the pen, but that he will save more than 10 games this season, whether that be due to injury to Wade Davis, or just a sharing of the wealth, this is the year Edwards emerges as the guy.
