A lot of us will remember the young and very promising Taillon as a starter for the ‘decent’ Pittsburgh Pirates teams of the Cubs’ championship years. The Cubs were instrumental in that squad’s breakup as they took the 2015 Wild Card game and went on to the World Championship the following year, when that Cubs group looked unstoppable.
Taillon was pretty damn good in that four-year stretch (29/20), though he was injured much of 2019 and all of 2020. He re-surfaced as a Yankee in 2021 and signed with the Cubs in 2023.
