Colin Rea is back with the Cubs after a three-year stint in Milwaukee, which residency he ended by being the one of the Brewers’ most successful starters during the 2024 season, in which he was 12-6 with a 4.29 ERA and 1.2 of his lifetime 1.4 bWAR.
Rea had previously played for the Cubs in 2020, a season in which he won one game and lost one, with an ERA over 5. I’m not going to hold that against him, though in truth I suspect that’s the real Colin Rea and that there will be some regression for the 33-year-old pitcher.
