Al Yellon created Bleed Cubbie Blue and has been its managing editor since 2005. He's also written three books about the Cubs, the latest is "Chicago Cubs Firsts."
Two pitchers who some of us had hoped the Cubs might look at, Max Fried and Nathan Eovaldi, were signed Tuesday.
Fried signed an eight-year, $218 million deal with the Yankees, said to be the largest ever for a lefthander.
Eovaldi remained with the Rangers on a three-year, $75 million contract, and honestly I think that’s too much for a pitcher who will turn 35 in February.
