It would be easy to say that if Jameson Taillon had executed better against Jackson Chourio in the fourth inning that the Cubs win this one. Afterall, Chourio’s grand slam in the fourth ended up being all four runs that Cubs allowed on the night. A walk, a catcher’s interference and an infield hit set the table.
Cubs pitching had a good night. They allowed five hits and a walk. That’s going to win a lot of baseball games. Four runs with that kind of production is fairly amazing. That’s one heck of a train wreck of sequencing.
