I know I’m having a selective memory problem, but I just feel like every year there is some disappointment involving games with the Marlins. Some of them are obvious. The recent post season loss. The 2003 soul-crushing NLCS loss. Heck, go all the way back to 1997 and they were a big part of the Cubs’ 0-14 start. Last year, it was an extra-inning defeat in one of the games that sticks out because in the modern era games are tilted to end in no later than 10 innings. The Cubs played two long extra-inning games last year and lost both, one to the Marlins.
