The Cubs have led in every game since the All-Star break. That’s the good news. The bad? With last night’s loss, the team is just 9-7 since the break. The Cubs have been a second-half team through the whole Joe Maddon tenure. But if this year’s version can’t figure out how to win on the road, it just isn’t going to happen. The 7-2 homestand was great. The 2-5 start to this road trip? Not so much. After dropping the first game in this series, it feels very likely that the Cubs will continue their streak of not winning road series.
