2018 Chatwood Returns; Cubs Throttled 7-1

The Cubs couldn’t ever come back from the hole that Tyler Chatwood caused with his five walks in 1 1/3 innings of his first start back since a trip to the injury list due to a back issue. He didn’t have any command and was lucky that Duane Underwood was able to come into a bases loaded jam and get out of it unscathed.

Also returning from injury was Jose Quintana. Quintana, as you may recall, sliced his finger while doing dishes before the summer camp started this season. He was slightly sharper than Chatwood as he was able to go three innings but his stat line looks pretty bad as Casey Sadler gave up a grand slam with most of the runners being Quintana’s.
