The MLB trade deadline on August 1st is rapidly approaching, and the trade rumors around the Chicago Cubs are starting to heat up. The Cubs are 53-35 at the All-Star break, and although they led the NL Central, they've regressed a bit in recent weeks. One thing is for sure though; the Cubs will be buyers at the trade deadline. With that in mind, here all the latest Cubs trade rumors below.
Chicago interested in Josh Reddick
The Cubs are looking to add to their outfield at the deadline, and Oakland's Josh Reddick has sparked their interest, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Reddick is drawing plenty of trade interest, with the Royals, in particular, following him closely. Others to have scouted him include the Giants, Cubs, Dodgers, Blue Jays and Nationals, along with a handful of non-contenders looking at him as a free-agent option for next season.
Reddick is in the final year of his contract, and he has not had any recent extension talks with the team, meaning he's almost guaranteed to be dealt before the deadline. The 29-year-old is batting .295 with five homers and 20 RBIs in 53 games this season.
Cubs resisting trade offers for prospect
Cubs 19-year-old outfielder Eloy Jimenez is thought of as one of the top prospects in Chicago's farm system, and they have no intentions of dealing him. According to CSNChicago's David Kaplan, they're resisting the heavy stream of trade offers they've gotten for him:
That's why the @Cubs are resisting efforts from others to trade for him. https://t.co/A1ym8acn45

Jimenez is batting .332 with 10 homers and 58 RBIs with the Single-A South Bend Cubs this season. He also went 2-3 with a HR in the MLB Futures Game.
