Cubs Rumors: Cubs might still trade Bonifacio, Russell, Wright, out on Price?

In today's Cubs rumors and news update, the Chicago Cubs got their marquee deal out of the way early this month, dealing Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel to the Oakland Athletics for a trade package headlined by super-prospect shortstop Addison Russell.

Per Jon Heyman of CBS Sports, while the Cubs might be done putting together blockbusters at this point (say goodbye to the David Price speculation), there are still some moves that could be made over few days:

The Cubs dealt Darwin Barney to the Dodgers Monday, and could still make deals for bullpen lefties James Russell and Wesley Wright, as well as Boni (Emilion Bonifacio). But it makes no sense to try to dive into the Price market by dealing one or more of their top prospects. After all, they traded Samardzija, who was in the same contractual situation as Price. They are both free agents after the 2015 season.

With his eye firmly on the future of the team past 2015, team president Theo Epstein should be more than willing to part with those three players in order to continue to load up on talent to help move their rebuilding plans along.
