In the bare concrete hallway outside the visiting dressing room, deep under the stands of fans clearing quietly out of the stadium, Toronto Argonauts coach Marc Trestman was asked to reflect. It was a wild game, an entertaining game, but it was also more than that.

The Argos rallied to a 43-35 overtime win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday night, securing their hold on first place in the Canadian Football League's East Division. Toronto (7-7) is three points ahead of the Ottawa RedBlacks (5-9-1) in second, and eight points clear of Hamilton (3-10).
