On the night the Bulls selected him No. 7 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, Wendell Carter Jr. famously donned a black suit with a colorful cloth shoulder covering inspired by the movie “Black Panther.”
“I’ve seen the movie a couple times, and one scene he had a drape that went across the front of his suit, so I thought, why don’t I try it out?” Carter said that night.
So it’s no surprise that when the family of Chadwick Boseman, who starred as King T’Challa in the landmark film, confirmed Boseman passed away at age 43 after a four-year battle with colon cancer Friday night, Carter was quick to honor the iconic actor’s life and legacy.
