The Browns lost to the Titans on Sunday, and they've likely lost the franchise's best and most important player of the new era for the rest of the season.
Joe Thomas, the NFL's ironman, was removed from a game for the first time in his career after suffering a left triceps injury in the third quarter. His consecutive snaps streak, presumed to be the longest in NFL history, ends at 10,363 over 11 seasons.
Thomas had been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his 10 previous seasons and passed 10,000 consecutive snaps last month. He said he was making a “routine” block on a run play when he reached and felt something “unnatural” in his triceps area.
