Training Camp Diaries: Luke Kennard-Malik Monk matchup; How Andre Drummond approached free throws this offseason

One of the more compelling matchups tucked into the Detroit Pistons' preseason opener against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night was between two of the NBA's fresh faces.
Pistons rookie guard Luke Kennard, who was selected 12th in the 2017 NBA draft, and Hornets rookie guard Malik Monk, who went one pick before, found themselves face to face for a good portion of the night.
Both had their moments, as Kennard shook off an early miss in the second quarter by bouncing back with two straight made jumpers. And after Detroit squandered a double-digit, first-half lead, it was the rookie who tied the contest up at 103-103 with yet another jump shot.
