As an NBA Coach of the Year winner without a job, Tom Thibodeau’s name is bound to come up for a number of vacancies around the league. This one, though, has a bit more spice to it.
Thibodeau is being connected to the New York Knicks’ head coaching job by the New York Post. Villanova coach Jay Wright was rumored to be a candidate for new Knicks president Leon Rose, but Wright isn’t likely to leave Villanova. The Post’s reporting said Thibodeau is interested in the job and could be among the frontrunners.
Thibodeau, who coached the Bulls from 2010-2015 and won Coach of the Year in 2011, has been out of a job since leaving the Minnesota Timberwolves in January 2019.
