Based on comments from Bulls' management during their end-of-season press conference, it seems almost certain they will fully guarantee Rajon Rondo's $13.4 million salary on June 30. As for Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade, the next few days leading up to the draft will determine their future, but let's assume the Bulls intend to bring back the “Three Alphas.”
Why the Bulls would pursue this course of action is mystifying. By examining Rondo's performance from a macroscopic perspective rather than focusing on the last few weeks of the season, it should be a no-brainer to waive him rather than bringing him back at that price.
