The Bulls made the switch from coach Tom Thibodeau to Fred Hoiberg last year with the idea that they would keep their roster intact and improve by completely changing the style in which they played.
The Bulls changed their style dramatically and ended up significantly worse on both ends of the floor, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
Last year should have served as a lesson for the Bulls and Hoiberg: Create a style that fits your players rather than trying to fit square pegs in round holes.
The Bulls’ new roster is not a good fit for Hoiberg’s up-tempo, egalitarian approach where the ball and players supposedly fly around the court.
