The Chicago Bulls have bigger fish to fry on Thursday with the 2017 NBA Draft, but one of their big decisions to make this summer is whether or not to pick up Rajon Rondo’s option for next season.
Rondo, who signed a partially-guaranteed two-year deal around $28 million last summer with the Bulls, has an option the Bulls can pick up for $13,397,000 this upcoming season. Although Rondo showed a lot in the Bulls’ two playoff wins against his former team in Boston, last season was lackluster for he and the Bulls as a whole.
According to Comcast SportsNet Chicago‘s Vincent Goodwill, a decision on whether or not to pick up Rondo’s option will be made next week, prior to Dwyane Wade‘s option deadline (which he’s going to accept) on June 27 and when the NBA free agency officially starts on July 1.
