Taj Gibson had been rumored to be on the trade block for years. Minutes before the trade deadline on Thursday, the Bulls finally pulled the trigger, sending Gibson, Doug McDermott, and a 2018 second-round pick to Oklahoma City in exchange for Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne and Anthony Morrow, according to The Vertical‘s Shams Charania.
McDermott was originally drafted with the 11th pick in the 2014 draft. He was traded to the Bulls in exchange for the 16th pick, 19th pick, a 2015 second-round pick and Anthony Randolph, whom they later packaged with two second-round picks to get off their books.
