The announcement that de Leeuw will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured ACL most certainly deals a blow to any hopes for a successful postseason run for the Fire. The Dutch attacker finished second on the team last year with seven goals in 18 appearances, but he reconstructed his game to best suit the new acquisitions and the revamped style of play in 2017 and had become the team's assist leader.
