Morgan Park High School boys basketball coach Nick Irvin loves to use the Proviso West Holiday Tournament as proving ground for his players. After all, like most of the spectators who’ve attended the tournament since its inception, Irvin has not only watched his players on the teams he’s coached perform well in the holiday tourney, he has watched his own family members and contemporaries make names for themselves.
Irvin’s Morgan Park team is the defending champions, but he knows the field will give his Mustangs their best game every night. In their first game on Tuesday night, Morgan Park crushed Von Steuben 83-46.
