No Scottie Lindsey, some problems for Wildcats in loss to Illinois

As the temperature steadily dropped outside Welsh-Ryan Arena on Tuesday night, Northwestern’s shooters followed suit.

In a failed effort to avoid back-to-back losses, Northwestern (18-6 overall, 7-4 in the Big Ten) couldn’t get much going offensively in a 68-61 loss to Illinois (14-11 overall, 4-8 in the Big Ten), which won its first road game of the season.

In a season where the only destination is the NCAA tournament, was this just a speed bump or the early stages of a breakdown and a tow to the NIT?

Without Scottie Lindsey, out for his second game with mono, the Wildcats aren’t a tournament team.
