Mascots and murder mysteries: How the Bulls reinvented social media with innovative Snapchat movies

Bill Wennington and Chuck Swirsky had no idea what to expect Friday morning when they walked into the Bulls’ offices in the brand-new East Atrium building attached to the United Center. All the Bulls’ radio broadcast team was told was to be there at 10:30 to film something for the team’s Snapchat.

When they walk in, they’re directed to a small, glass-walled office where they’re presented with a script by Billy Bungeroth, the longtime artistic director at Second City, who has been working with the Bulls’ social-media team on these Snapchat shorts all season.

“You don’t have to get this in one take,” Bungeroth tells Swirsky and Wennington as they look over the script.
