The Bulls never gave up hope that point guard Lonzo Ball would return from the experimental surgery on his left knee that cost him two-plus seasons.
He was down, and the Bulls stood by him. That devotion resonated with him.
Ball figured last week that he could return the favor. He agreed to a hometown discount to stay with the Bulls, signing a two-year, $20 million extension with the second year being a team option.
