Around this time a year ago, Jimmy Butler was declining a four-year, $44 million deal from the Chicago Bulls to remain the team’s shooting guard of the future. He decided he wanted to roll the dice and “bet on himself”. The bet paid off and Butler became a $90 million man after winning the league’s most improved player award last season.
Butler’s rise to stardom was recognized by many last year, including those not affiliated with the NBA. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model (and resident Chicago Bulls fan) Erin Heatherton mentioned back in April that Butler was her favorite player.
