Before Lauri Markkanen and the Chicago Bulls embark on a tremendous tank throughout the 2017-18 NBA season kick off their 2017-18 NBA season with training camp in late September, the seven-foot Finnish rookie will represent Team Finland in EuroBasket 2017.
Markkanen, who was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, will play with Finland in Group A of the European touranment that’s been won by former Bulls big man Pau Gasol and the Spanish National Team three of the last four years.
Current Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic would be playing for Spain, but with no current contract with the Bulls, he declined the invite to participate again this year and stayed in the United States to train in Chicago at the Bulls facilities.
