Frank Thomas: Michael Jordan at White Sox spring training 'was a freak show'

There was no media circus like a Michael Jordan media circus.

And when it came to spring training in 1994, it was something like the White Sox had never seen.

Jordan made the shocking decision to leave his life as the greatest basketball player in the world to try to reach the majors as a pro baseball player. He joined up with the White Sox, turning down at least one direct path to the major leagues with another team, and reported to spring training in Sarasota, Florida.

“It was a freak show,” White Sox legend Frank Thomas told Our Chuck Garfien on the White Sox Talk Podcast.
