EuroBasket 2017: Lauri Markkanen is likely to play for Finland after tweaking ankle

Through two games at EuroBasket 2017, Chicago Bulls rookie Lauri Markkanen hasn’t looked like a player that will soon be entering his first NBA season.

In the two games he’s played in for his native Finland, Markkanen has scored 46 total points and pulled down 14 rebounds, including a late surge in the Finns’ 86-84 comeback victory over France in the tournament opener this past Thursday.

Late in the game on Saturday against 2018 draft prospect Luka Doncic and Slovenia, Markkanen looked to tie the game with a 3-pointer from the left corner. He missed, but the important note came shortly after.
