Eight Years Ago, Derrick Rose was Taken No. 1 Overall by Bulls

On May 22, 2008, the Chicago Bulls had a 1.7 percent chance of winning the NBA’s top overall pick for the 2008 NBA Draft.

The top two prospects in that draft class were Kansas State’s do-it-all forward Michael Beasley and the explosive Memphis point guard from Chicago’s Englewood district: Derrick Rose.

The Bulls miraculously won the top overall pick and would take Rose a month later with the first pick.
