In Chicago there are public high schools from Rogers Park to Roseland, but everyone knows when it comes to basketball, the Public League revolves around two sides of town, the South and the West.
When people talk about Chicago basketball, that’s what they mean, the kids from the South Side and the West Side. Simeon and Morgan Park, Young and Curie. Westinghouse, Orr, Vocational, Farragut, you know the names.
But what about the North Side, where a new program is ready for its close up.
This season, the Uplift Community High School Titans, located in the Uptown neighborhood, want to upset the natural order of things in the Public League tournament.
