Chicago Sky moving to Chicago’s Wintrust Arena

The Chicago Sky will move out of Allstate Arena and into the soon-to-be completed Wintrust Arena, in the South Loop neighborhood.

  • The Chicago Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) agreed to a vote to bring the Chicago Sky back to Chicago after they spent the last eight seasons playing in Rosemont. Wintrust Arena is projected to be completed by fall 2017, and houses the DePaul men's and women's basketball teams as its primary tenants. The Sky are expected to host 17 home games and promotional events in the 10,387-seat arena.
  • Mayor Rahm Emmanuel issued the following statement following the announcement: “This move by the Chicago Sky will mean jobs and economic opportunities in Bronzeville and across our neighborhoods,” Mayor Emanuel said.
