Taj Gibson has been starting games for the Chicago Bulls this season. Gibson recorded 11 rebounds in 38 minutes of action against the Toronto Raptors recently, and he logged so much playing time because Joakim Noah is still out with a shoulder injury.
Gibson is not only starting these days, but he is also mentoring Bobby Portis into his future replacement.
The rookie was efficient during Monday’s 104-97 victory with 12 points on only 10 shots, and he had nine rebounds as well. The bench was the main reason why the Bulls won the game, and we will probably be asking ourselves why Portis isn’t starting in the near future.
