Chicago Bulls rookie Wendell Carter Jr. set back by injury

Wendell Carter Jr. underwent an MRI on Wednesday after a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on the road. The results revealed that he suffered a ligament tear in his thumb.

Carter will join guard/forward Denzel Valentine on the sideline when the Bulls head to the Pepsi Center to face one of the league’s best, the Denver Nuggets.

It’s no question the Bulls have had their share of injuries all year long.

What this means is the Bulls won’t likely cut big man Robin Lopez from the rotation, or at least not so quickly as it’s been previously reported.
