The Chicago Bulls made a bold move on June 22nd, 2017, trading Jimmy Butler, their only player with All-Star ability. On that fateful night, the Bulls sent Butler and the number 16 pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In return, the Bulls jumped into lottery range, receiving the 7th pick, Kris Dunn, and Zach LaVine.
The Draft
With that number 7 pick, the Bulls chose a lanky stretch four out of the University of Arizona, Lauri Markkanen. I’ll be the first to tell you- I was skeptical. I watched Markkanen in college, and liked his game.
