The Chicago Bulls are adding a player to the mix at small forward.
According to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, the Bulls will acquire Quincy Pondexter and a second-round pick from the New Orleans Pelicans.
Pondexter, 29, has missed all of the past two seasons after undergoing multiple knee surgeries. The Pelicans acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies in 2015, but he was injured during the playoffs that season. He was expected to make a full recovery by the 2016-17 season, but failed to appear in a game last season.
If he’s healthy, Pondexter could add a spacing element to Chicago’s offense.
